“Where the ruins of old Alberta echo with neon liturgy, undead covenants, and the thunder of treaded dreams.”
Once the political and economic engine of Alberta, the
Capital Parkland now serves as a fractured corridor of culture, decay, and
survival. Stretching from the shadowed ridges of Hinton and Edson to the
bleeding-edge borderlands of Lloydminster, this post-apocalyptic region is
stitched together by cracked highways, haunted forests, psychic oilfields, and
mutant towns clinging to tradition, transformation, or transcendence.
Ruled by no single power, the Parkland is a crucible of
factions: from vampire parishes and biker cults to fungal communes, machine
enclaves, and prairie-born paladins. Its survivors are bold, broken, and
brilliantly strange, forever dancing between death and rebirth beneath the
dying glow of the aurora.
This is where the heartland beats after the end.
This is the Capital Parkland.
Patchwork Parishes of Ed-Town – Introduction
"Suburbia survived. Sanity did not."
Before the Hodgepocalypse, Edmonton was infamous for its
sprawl, stretching outward in every direction with endless subdivisions, big
box stores, and ring roads that looped like a serpent devouring itself. It was
once dubbed “the biggest northernmost parking lot with delusions of
grandeur.” The end of the world didn’t shrink it—it crowned it. What
was once suburbia is now a scatter of sanctuaries, fortresses, and eccentric
fiefdoms: the Patchwork Parishes. Each clings to identity, memory, or
madness. Join us as we tour the stitched-together remnants orbiting the
Festival City, one community at a time.
